Project Based Learning

Project Based Learning (PBL) is a teaching methodology in which students gain knowledge and skills by working for an extended period of time to investigate and respond to an authentic, engaging and complex question, problem, or challenge.

At Apex, students actively explore real-world problems and challenges and acquire a deeper knowledge. Each Term students are engaged across a range of subject areas from Elementary through High School in such activities.

Why Project Based Learning ?

  • PBL teaches 21st century skills in critical thinking, collaboration, and effective communication crucial in post-secondary college and career paths.
  • Facilitates Real world connections tied to student interest.
  • Incorporates culturally relevant projects which may include cases, inquiries, cross-cutting concepts, games, and much more.
